How many Symposium Professional Development Hours will you receive? 
By attending the Symposium, you may earn up to 11.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). PDHs are available through AREMA’s relationship with the New York Professional Engineers (PIE) Program. Individuals needing PDHs for other states may self-declare using AREMA’s form. The PDH forms will be available online at www.arema.org after the Symposium.

How can I register a group of 10 or more employees and receive a discount?
Group Registration must include (10) or more full registrations submitted simultaneously and paid for by one payment will receive a 10% discount if registrations are received by April 14, 2022. Discount applies only to a Full Symposium registration fee and not Student registrations. Email meetings@arema.org for details.

What are the AREMA COVID-19 Guidelines? 
We expect everyone attending the AREMA event to follow the measures listed below, which are based on CDC guidance. Members, staff, and volunteers must also follow all federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.  

  • Isolate if you are sick, and do not attend any activity/meeting/event if you, anyone you live with, or anyone you have recently been around feels unwell. 
  • Do not attend any activity/meeting/event if you or anyone you live with has been tested for COVID-19 or another illness and does not have the results back yet. 
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, wear a face covering or mask that covers your nose and mouth and stay at least 6 feet apart from people you don’t live with. 
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. 


If I register for the Symposium as a participant, what do I agree to so I may attend? 

Participation Waiver. As a condition of my participation in this meeting or event, I hereby waive any claim I may have against AREMA and its officers, directors, employees, or agents, or against the presenters or speakers, for reliance on any information presented and release AREMA from and against any and all liability for damage or injury that may arise from my participation or attendance at the program. I acknowledge that participation in AREMA events and activities brings some risk and I do hereby assume responsibility for my well-being. If another individual participates in my place per AREMA transfer policy, the new registrant agrees to this disclaimer and waiver by default of transfer. 

I understand that travel and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness or death from COVID-19. I waive and release AREMA and its sponsors and exhibitors, and their employees and agents, from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of COVID-19 or other communicable disease due to travel to or attendance at an event sponsored by AREMA. 

I will take necessary precautions while at the event including, but not limited to, engaging in appropriate social distancing, wearing a mask when requested and/or required, minimize face touching, frequently washing hands and avoiding risky environments such as crowded bars or restaurants. I agree not to attend any AREMA event if I feel ill or have had recent exposure to a COVID-19 case.  If I do attend the event and I feel ill, I will alert AREMA staff that I am not feeling well and will cancel my event participation.  I realize there will not be a refund provided if I am unable to attend while on-site and the program will be available to me On Demand.  If I have to extend my stay at the hotel because I am not feeling well, I will do so directly with hotel staff to make my own arrangements. 

This waiver and release are binding on me and my heirs, including my successors. 

Who should I contact if I am at the Event and not feeling well? 
You may send a message to AREMA meetings@arema.org stating you are unable to attend the Symposium.   

What is the AREMA Cancellation/Transfer Policy? 
Cancellations must be received in writing on or before April 14, 2022, to meetings@arema.org to obtain a refund. A 20% processing fee will be charged for all cancellations regardless of the reason. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after April 14, 2022. Transfers may be made for a $60 processing fee by sending an e-mail to meetings@arema.org. The individual submitting the transfer request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution, which could include a member to a non-member registration fee. 

What is the refund policy if I have already paid for an event that has been cancelled? 
AREMA will refund your registration fee back to the original form of payment within 2-3 weeks of the cancellation notice.    

Who do I contact regarding my hotel room? 
Housing is being handled by Conference Direct.  You can contact Conference Direct or call 877-440-7551. 
  
What is included in the cost of my registration? 
Your registration grants you access to the Symposium as well as the RSSI 2022 C&S Exhibition, held May 17 – 18. If you are also an RSSI Exhibition Exhibitor, contact RSSI to ensure you have the proper credentials to access the exhibition show floor. The Symposium will be held at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown Hotel, and the Exhibition is at the Kansas City Convention Center across the street from the hotel. 

Will this event be available On Demand? 
The content of this Symposium will be available for attendees to view On Demand a few weeks after the event. 

Will AREMA provide a list of attendees for the Symposium? 
Yes, the list of attendees for the Symposium will be sent prior to the start of the Symposium. Attendees will have an option to opt in/out of being included on the list.
