Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant demonstrating an interest in the field of rail traction electrification systems engineering.
Communications & Signals Functional Group Scholarship

Student pursuing a four or five year Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or Information Technology undergraduate degree program at an accredited* institution who has demonstrated an interest in railroad Signaling and Communications. Priority is given to AREMA C&S Functional Group family members, including grandchildren.
John J. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

Junior or Senior college student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a professional field that has direct applications in the passenger rail sector.
Michael and Gina Garcia - Rail Engineering Scholarship ($3,000)
Priority given to student who is married and/or supporting a family while enrolled as a student.
Michael W. & Jean D. Franke Family Foundation Scholarship ($6,000)
Engineering student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Michigan Tech Alumni Scholarship (Three awards of $1,500 each)
Undergraduate or graduate engineering student in good standing at Michigan Tech University. This scholarship is available to all Railroad Engineering and Activities Club (REAC) Members and Club Officers.
New York Central Railroad Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Priority given to a student at Clarkson University.
Norfolk Southern Foundation Scholarship ($1,000)
The student's institution must be located in Norfolk Southern's service area (22 states, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada). The 22 states include AL, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA and WV.
North Carolina Railroad Company Scholarship ($1,000)
Enrolled student who is a US citizen and a resident of North Carolina for tuition purposes. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited North Carolina College or University civil, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
Structures Functional Group Member Emeritus Scholarship in Honor of Dr. F. Wayne Klaiber ($1,000)
An engineering student in the field of structural engineering pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Union Pacific - William E. Wimmer Scholarship ($1,000)
Enrolled student who is in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior academic year located at a U.S. Midwestern, Southwestern or Western University with an accredited* engineering curriculum, pursuing a BS or higher degree in Civil Engineering (all disciplines), Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
