Introduction to Freight Railway Bridge Loading

This course aims to provide early career professionals an overview of freight railway bridge loading for the most common types of freight railroad bridges.

Presenter Bios


Eric Dues, PE, SE has been with Gannett Fleming for the entirety of his 17 years of professional work and is currently the Bridge Group Manager for Ohio. He began as an intern performing detailing tasks and continues to be involved in the planning, design, and management of bridge projects throughout the country, including highway, transit and freight. Eric holds degrees from Wright State University and the University of Cincinnati and is currently vice-chair of the Bearing subcommittee on AREMA Committee 15.

Temple I. Overman, PE is a Project Manager for HNTB Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. Ms. Overman has worked in the Bridge Group since 2012 and has served in a variety of roles including project manager, design task lead, and resident engineer for Class I railroads. Ms. Overman holds a Bachelors and Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Kansas and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Missouri. Temple is an active member of AREMA Committee 8 and has previously served as the Subcommittee 3 Chair.
