Beth Caruso, CAE
Executive Director and CEO
Beth joined AREMA in May 1999. Beth was appointed as AREMA's Executive Director/CEO in September 2015. Prior to this appointment, she served as AREMA's Director of Administration. As Director of Administration, she played a key staff leadership role, having served as Deputy Executive Director. She supported the Executive Director/CEO, Board of Governors, Board of Directors and our Standing Committees throughout her career at AREMA. As Executive Director/CEO, Beth will continue to work very closely with our boards and standing committees and will administer all AREMA Headquarters Operations.
Beth has a BA degree in English with a concentration in Media Communications from High Point University in North Carolina. She is a member of the American Society of AssociationExecutives (ASAE) and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2010.
Stacy Spaulding, CAE
Senior Director of Executive and Board Operations
Stacy joined AREMA in July 1999. She was promoted to Senior Director of Executive and Board relations in November 2015, responsible for the coordination of association Executive office and administration functions as well as support to the Executive Office. She was previously Director of Committees and Technical Services, responsible for coordinating and supporting the work of all AREMA Committees and the pre-publication aspects of all AREMA Manuals and other publications. Stacy graduated with honors from Frostburg State University with a BA in Psychology. Stacy brings considerable association and membership management experience to AREMA. She has been a member the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 1997 and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2007.
Vickie Fisher, CAE
Senior Director of Finance and Human Resources
Vickie joined AREMA in May 2001 as Director of Finance. She is responsible for the finance and human resources of AREMA. Vickie has more than 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting and attended Cedarville University in Ohio and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS degree in Business Accounting. She has been a member of American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 2001 and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2014.
Director of Membership and Information Systems
Janice joined AREMA in January 2000. She has ten years of experience in managing association membership services and database information systems. Janice is responsible for membership recruitment and retention, and for the management of the AREMA database. She has a BS degree from Bowie State University. She is a member the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Desirée Knight, CMP
Director of Education and Meetings
Desirée joined AREMA in July, 2000. Prior to joining AREMA she held various meeting and trade show planning positions with a large foundation, a trade association and a national trade show production company. Desirée is responsible for the logistical planning and support for the AREMA Annual Conference & Exposition, Seminars and other various meetings. Her degree is from West Los Angeles College. She is an active member of the Professional Convention Meeting Association (PCMA), International Association of Exhibitions (IAEE) and Events and American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She is an ASAE DELP Scholar. She is also active on a few industry boards. She received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2006.
Director of Marketing and Communications
Lindsay joined AREMA in early January 2014 as Manager of Marketing & Communications. Lindsay is responsible for all marketing and communication tasks. Lindsay has BS and MBA degrees in Marketing from York College of Pennsylvania. Lindsay brings several years of marketing and customer service experience to AREMA. In April of 2015, she was promoted to Director of Marketing & Communications. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Director of Information Technology Services
Skip joined AREMA in April 2016 as Director of Information Technology Services.
He is responsible for the overall planning, organizing and execution of all AREMA IT functions. This includes directing the association’s IT operations to meet staff and customer requirements, as well as the strategy for its information technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, cabling, website, telephone services, and networks.
Skip has more than 20 years of experience in IT Operations for Associations, Government Agencies and most recently as an IT Consultant for various companies in the Washington, DC Metro Area. He has a BA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has been certified in multiple Microsoft Operating Systems and Server Applications. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Manager of Committees and Technical Services
Alayne joined AREMA in February 2016. She brings over 15 years of association experience to AREMA, including substantial committee and publications support. She is responsible for coordinating the work of all AREMA Committees and the pre-publication aspects of all AREMA Manuals and other publications. In addition, she supports the AREMA Student Chapters and the Educational Foundation Scholarship Program. She has a BA degree in Literature from American University. She has been a member of the Society for Standards Professionals since 2013, as well as the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 2016.
Christy Thomas, CEM
Programs and Services Support Manager
Christy joined AREMA in February 2010 as a Project Assistant. Christy assists each department with various duties, but works primarily with the Meetings and Exposition Departments. She has several years of customer service experience and most recently worked at Freeman as an exposition services coordinator. She is a graduate of Salisbury University with a BS Degree. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and earned her Certified Exhibit Management (CEM) designation in 2009.
Morgan joined AREMA in July 2015 as a Staff Assistant and was promoted in November 2015 as Administration Manager. Morgan is responsible for assisting each department with various projects. She also manages AREMA’s publications sales. Morgan brings many years of customer service experience and most recently worked at a law firm as a legal assistant. She has a BS degree in Family and Consumer Sciences/Minor in Psychology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
