HBD-101 Introduction To Defect Detector Systems
Hot Bearing Detector - HBD-101 Introduction to Defect Detector Systems will provide a detailed description of why defect detector systems are needed, along with how the complete system works. A description of the major components and their function in the complete system will be detailed. This webinar will also show photos and illustrations of actual bearing failures and list some of the common failures that occur.
This webinar is comprised of recommended practices and relevant accumulated knowledge from subject matter experts in the railroad industry. It is not intended as a regulatory qualification.
Presenter Biography
Paul Younger started work for the former Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1969. Paul worked as signal assistant, signal designer, and Manager Electronic Design. He was responsible for the CTC code systems and detector systems on the UPRR for 20 years. Paul retired from UPRR in 2009 after 40 years in the railroad industry. After retirement, he started Nebraska Signal Design & Support, Inc. where he continues to be active in the rail industry providing expertise on detector systems.
